Position Overview

Position Status:  Part-time/Full-time

Position Summary

We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our small but growing team! You would be a great fit if you are an excellent communicator, have outstanding customer service skills, are precise & detail oriented, adept at problem-solving, and if you are skilled in building & maintaining client & referral source relationships.

The primary responsibility of this position will be to maintain the books of both Business Bully and select clients. Other duties will include maintaining accurate records of our financial transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheets, preparing monthly reports, reconciling bank statements, monthly sales taxes, and various other tasks in an accurate and timely manner. A key focus of this role will be to create a consistent and seamless environment for our clients to receive and understand the information in their monthly reports and review.

Role

A dynamic, fun, and challenging role as a bookkeeper. You will be responsible for a book of clients who you will get to know and develop relationships with. You will be responsible for maintaining their books monthly and their sales tax as per schedule. This includes building, supporting, and maintaining key relationships that ensure the vision of our company.

Direct Reports

This position will directly report to the owner of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage the daily maintenance of client accounts.
  2. File sales tax per schedule.
  3. Partner with the team to create manuals and document processes – both new and existing.
  4. Complete all applicable month-end journals including payroll journals. 
  5. Run all client month-end reports and assist in preparing for a presentation.
  6. Keep the office organized and clean.
  7. Keep all client records organized.
  8. Maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

  1. Strong attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills, including time management and systematizing all processes as much as possible.
  2. Proficiency in maintaining and optimizing company data through QuickBooks, Excel, Word, and Google Suite software.
  3. Desire and ability to prioritize and execute for results in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Must be able to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines, while handling simultaneous clients.
  5. Excellent follow-through capabilities.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  7. Flexible and collaborative approach to working in a team, while highly driven and able to work independently.
  8. Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
